Steve Adams
Senior Web Designer
What do you do at Bit-Wizards?
Website design, graphic design, SharePoint branding, Flash animation, web application skinning, and other miscellaneous tasks I get from the head honcho.
What is your background?
I am currently attending Northwest Florida State College in pursuit of a degree in Computer Science.
What was your first paying job?
My first paying job was working with my dad doing remodeling and construction. I was 14 and I would work with some of my dad's coworker's sons. We mainly did a lot of grunt work like moving piles of wood and tearing out old Sheetrock from buildings. It really didn't matter how hard we had to work because at 14 we felt rich working for $5 an hour! It was a great first job and truly taught me the value of a hard day's work.
People you admire the most?
My Parents - They are awesome…or really good at brainwashing.
Biggest challenge in your job?
I believe the biggest challenge in my job will always be paying attention to the details. The details are those little things that we assume are so glaringly obvious there is no possible way they will ever get overlooked. Never-the-less, one will sometimes slip by and what should have been obvious and impossible to overlook is now easily noticed by all. I am learning to handle every bit of the task at hand with the same amount of care and respect. Sometimes no matter how much care is invested human error plays a factor and in this case it is great to have coworkers who are eager to lend a sharp mind and a keen eye.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Pepperoni Pizza…I have no will power when it comes to pizza, none whatsoever.
What is your favorite place to travel and why?
I haven't really traveled a whole lot in my life, but if I could I would love to go to Alaska or Canada and spend some time in the wilderness. I love the simplicity and beauty of the outdoors. My dream vacation would be to take a trip to Alaska with my dad and spend some time in the middle of nowhere doing nothing more than making fires, reading, and taking pictures of scenery.
You, a deserted island, and three must haves:
Bungalow with air conditioning, Sonic “Americas Drive-In” (for all my cold refreshing beverage needs), sigh…and my wife I guess.
Least favorite movie?
Super Size Me (Ruined all fast food for me).
So why did you watch it?
I had to find out how something that tastes so delicious could be so horrible for you to eat.
